Welcome to my site

This website was designed to promote the ‘art’ of wildlife photography.

Most people associate artists with people who use pencils, paints, pastels, graphite sticks, and/or clay as their tools to produce the images they desire to create.

Wildlife photographers, on the other hand, use a camera as their tool to produce their images. The camera captures and manipulates the natural light. That is to say, photographers use light as their paint brush to produce photographic art pieces.

The key difference here is that artists who draw, paint or sculpture can create whatever subject material and composition they desire, limited only by their imaginations.

Wildlife photographers do not have this type of control over their art. Their subject   material rarely sits and poses for them or lets you manipulate them for a better compositional shot. And their light source is always changing. They are usually at the mercy of unpredictable animal movements and inconsistent natural light and therefore have to learn to compensate for these factors.

The best wildlife photographers go well beyond the technical skills of mastering their camera, manipulating light, and composing a shot.

The best wildlife photographers study the natural behaviours, movement patterns (daily and seasonally), breeding cycles, and feeding habits of the species they want to photograph in order to increase the chances of finding their subjects, minimize unpredictable events and finally capture the ultimate shot.

And this is what makes wildlife photography so challenging, and satisfying. If you can conquer all these challenges to capture and create a memorable photograph, it is incredibly rewarding.

Understanding the challenges of photographing wildlife, the author of this site will provide photographs and videos of encouragement for all visitors as well as instructional video on what he has learned as a wildlife photographer/biologist to help you improve your skills.

Special blurbs and/or courses are presently being prepared for anyone interested in sucking that knowledge out of his brain.

Please enjoy the site. Please enjoy “WAYNE’S WILDLIFE WORLD”.
